I’m on my phone cause I’m taking care of the sick. I just got back from making Tommy some tea and he fell asleep. Poor guy.
Last weekend was long. We left Friday night about 5:30p and got to our destination about 8. Came to learn upon arriving that Alex’s game is canceled. They played scrimmage instead. After scrimmage we took off for Colorado and arrived at the hotel about 12:30a.
Saturday’s game wasn’t until 8pm so we slept in. I got down to breakfast at 9:30. Alex was already down there eating. We made a trip to Walmart for lunch and some snacks. We forgot that Colorado has gotten rid of bags. I’m glad we didn’t decide to walk. For the rest of the day Tommy did homework. I watched his lectures with him and then played on my Switch. Did some grinding on Bravely Default II. Then I played Animal Crossing for a half hour. My villagers told me that I’ve been gone for seven months.
The indoor rink was cold as usual. You could see your breath. Alex played a good game. Sadly, the team lost. We came back to the hotel after the game. Tom did homework while I played on my Switch. Alex hung out with his friends for a while.
Sunday, I woke up at 7:30 and got dressed. Went down for breakfast while Alex got ready for his game. Tom and I spent some time looking for Alex’s switch since Alex didn’t pack up before he left for the rink. After 15 minutes of searching the room, we found it. Tom and I checked out and went to the rink. We were slightly late for the game. And sadly they lost again. I think the rise in elevation made them a bit tired more easily.
We went to Chili’s for lunch afterward. With Alex having Celiac, we can’t feed him at fast food restaurants. Alex wasn’t happy that we were eating where the other team was having their team lunch at. I have to say, when you begin the trip home and it is 1pm and your gps says you will be home at 5pm…it’s a bit discouraging. But we made one stop and made it home just after 5.
That was our weekend. We are supposed to get some snow this week. Not too much.
Over the weekend three teens died that were from Alex’s high school. It is a bit of a shock. Especially to such a small school and a small community.
Next weekend he actually has a hockey game an hour before the Super Bowl. I wonder how many from the opposing team will make their way down the mountain to play?
Alexis has an interview for an internship for this summer. I’m a little nervous but I think it might be a good opportunity for her. She sent me a link to look at and give her opinion. She wants Tommy’s opinion also. I think she is a little nervous also.
