This last week has flown by. I started baking pies last Tuesday. I made pecan, pumpkin pie, a gluten free pumpkin pie and an apple pie and a gluten free apple pie. The gluten free pies are for Alex since he can’t have wheat. Wednesday, Kel and I made some sides and I started the rolls. We then made our way over to a friend’s house for an early Thanksgiving. We got there early so we helped set up for the evening. Tommy got to their house about 5. Dinner was good. There was turkey and ham and some sides and pies. I had this pumpkin roll cake. I didn’t have any room for more dessert. Socializing takes a lot out of me. I went to bed as soon as I came home. Chris finished the rolls. They came out good. I should have given more instructions since the dough needed to rise again a second time before baking. He also made the stuffing. On Thursday, since we made most of the sides on Wednesday, we were done with everything, except for the turkey, around 9. We started the turkey and Tommy and I went up to the store to buy some veggies to make salsa. Kel’s parents were at our house by the time we got home. Thanksgiving was an easy day, which was all Tommy’s idea. We warmed up the sides and had dinner around 2:30. Then had some pie. The pecan and apple pie went quick so I made more of both pies on Saturday. As well as more rolls. Sunday, Tommy and I drove Alexis and Audrey back to school. The drive went by pretty quickly as I was asking Tommy a bunch of trivia questions. He got many of the questions right. I’m impressed. I wanted to take Alexis shopping for some clothes so I had her find some clothes on my Kohl’s account while Tommy was working on the ps4. We then took Lexi to Walmart to do some grocery shopping for her. We bought her Taco Bell for dinner before bringing her back to her dorm. Then Tommy and I went to Taco Bell again for us since we didn’t feel like eating McDonald’s for the second time that day. It was alright. I remember when Taco Bell used to be the place to go when I was younger. Now, I’m just not as excited for fast food as I used to be. But it was a good dinner given our options.
Today I had such a hard time focusing on things. I did get all my stuff done in my daily routine. I have yet to put away the clean clothes that I want to put away. I rode the bike and did yoga this morning to get it out of the way and have the rest of the day to study. JavaScript has been so confusing lately. I wish I can go back to some of the basics and get that stuff down. I like the program that I’m using, although it’s ‘one example and move on’ method leaves you behind if you need a bit more help on some areas.
Now it’s time to think about Christmas! Though with all the planning of Thanksgiving, it’s nice to have a week of not thinking about any holidays. Especially since Christmas is the big one. But cookies! Christmas is the time for baking cookies..which are my favorite to bake. We didn’t put the tree up yet so I’m not sure when we are going to do that.
Tonight we are having air fryer chicken thighs and butternut squash. So dinner is pretty easy… I can put clothes away while the food is in the air fryer.
I’ve been thinking of starting a new hobby. Crocheting. I’ve tried a few times to crochet. Mostly when I was younger and my mom would try to teach me. But I’ve been thinking about doing a Woobles penguin. They give the instructions and material so you just have to follow along. It’s cheaper, $25, to buy without a crochet hook and I have a few crochet hooks already. I just need to learn how to use them.
Puppies are still sleeping. I think I will try to get a few things done before they wake up.
