I love sitting inside with a hot drink. I feel content at the moment. Inside can be cozy, only because outside it is not. The fire in the pellet stove is going and I’m sitting here studying with some hot tea. We have a weather storm warning right now. Snow is expected.
Therapy was good today. I talked about this past weekend and my anxieties. The holidays bring up so many past memories. Some, not so great. I do wish I had a better relationship with my mom. But I have to accept that my mom isn’t capable of having a relationship. I can’t say that she is mentally ill cause she has never been tested or have gone to a therapist, but I do wonder. She is textbook borderline. I do have to wonder about that. Even so, that would not excuse her behavior in any way. I’m upset that my mom didn’t give my girls a Christmas card or even a birthday card this year. My therapist mentioned that it is probably good that my girls don’t have a relationship with my mom and it’s most likely about myself wanting a relationship that makes me angry. I wonder if she is ok though. Not that I can ever tell or find out. I guess I shall wait for when my aunt and cousin go to the States to visit this summer to find out how my mom is doing. Or I can ask my uncle to call her. I know if I call it will just end up with me crying and her screaming. I just don’t want to repeat that.
But one of the questions that I’m supposed to figure out is when I have these anxieties. How will it help me later? I don’t know the answer yet, as I’m still thinking about it. Maybe I will answer it here later.
