Happy Monday! It’s June – my birthday month (Tommy’s birthday month as well), and it’s just under three months until our trip to Alaska.
The coding challenge today was quite demanding. We’re working on creating a telephone number validator, which is not very straightforward. The project involves using a regular expression (or regex), a sequence of characters that defines a search pattern in text. The regex string was lengthy, and it took me a few hours to piece it together.
Friday was a relaxing day with not much on the agenda. Tommy and I took care of some errands on Saturday and visited Costco. I always enjoy going to Costco and tasting the samples. Yesterday, Tommy, Alex, and I headed to the air show at the Air Force Base, a few hours away. The air show was enjoyable despite the intense heat. The temperature reached 98 degrees, and despite my sunscreen efforts, I still had a sunburn. Tommy managed to capture some great photos of the air show.
I visited Sephora.com and selected my birthday gift. If you’re a member of their rewards program, they offer a birthday gift without requiring a purchase. I took care of that during my lunch break.
I received a book from the library that I had placed on hold, “The Plus One.” It turns out it’s part of a series, and I’m currently on the third book. I am curious if I will read the first two books. If this book is good, I may read the first two. Looks like it’s full of familiar plot elements. It probably won’t take too long to finish.
Additionally, I have the second book from another series, “Iron Flame.” I’m excited to see how this book turns out. Hopefully, it’s as good as the first book.
The empty water bottles are out. So I figured we got water and was disappointed that we didn’t. Then it occurred to me that it’s Monday, and water comes on Tuesday. Haha!
