Today is my birthday. So, I thought I’d look up some birthday facts:
Birthday Celebrations Origin: The tradition of celebrating birthdays dates back to ancient Egypt, where Pharaohs were honored on their “birthday” – the day they were coronated and considered gods.
Birthday Candles: The tradition of placing candles on birthday cakes is believed to have originated in ancient Greece. People brought cakes adorned with candles to the temple of Artemis, the goddess of the moon. The lit candles were supposed to mimic the glowing moon.
Happy Birthday Song: The “Happy Birthday” song was written by two sisters, Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill, in 1893. Originally called “Good Morning to All,” it eventually became the most recognized song in the English language.
Birthdays Around the World: Different cultures have unique ways of celebrating birthdays. In Mexico, for example, the birthday person often wears a piñata. At the same time, in Ireland, a child might be held upside down and “bumped” on the floor for good luck.

I don’t have much to say. It’s been quite a year, and there have been many changes. Strangely, I can’t think of a single change that has happened to me. I have a free birthday drink at Starbucks, but I need a car to get there, which is a bit of a bummer. Today has been good so far. It rained, and I love the rain. I also worked on some JavaScript functions and problem-solving in programming.
We will be having my birthday dinner this weekend. I chose street tacos. 🙂 I’m looking forward to it.
