I tried to fulfill my therapy homework yesterday with encouragement from Tommy. As part of the progress, I challenged myself to communicate more during a gaming event at a friend’s house. Although I felt somewhat awkward and struggled to focus on my words, I still engaged in conversations minimally. When prompted with questions, I found it easier to express myself despite occasional anxiety-induced mental blocks. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the board games and even shared, with Kel pushing me to share, the amusing story of my accidental grape cupcake-baking blunder. I thought the grapes were blueberries. The grapes were even sold in the store in those plastic containers that blueberries are often sold in.
On Saturday, Tommy and I ran errands and went shopping before retreating to rest at home. Unfortunately, Tommy was still under the weather, so due to the sudden rain, we opted for air-fried chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, and broccoli instead of cheese steak sandwiches.
I texted my therapist this morning to ask when my next appointment is. I have it on the calendar for this Wednesday, but I wasn’t getting any confirmation texts about it, so I wanted to ensure it was indeed on this Wednesday.
Today, I started my studies early. Working on this etch-a-sketch project has been quite frustrating. The code is functioning correctly on Codepen and has been updated on GitHub. However, when I try to view it in the browser via GitHub, it still shows the old code, even though the new code has been merged. Despite turning in the code that worked on Codepen, I find it disappointing that the site, Odin Project, doesn’t review the actual code. It would be nice if we got some feedback on our work.
The Odin Project is quite challenging. It’s like the Wild West of self-learning—there’s absolutely no hand-holding, and you’re often directed to external links for most of the content. It’s like being pushed out the door and told, “Good luck out there, buddy!” for the projects. However, I enjoy myself, even if I have much trouble with the work.
I typically don’t have to buy candy to satisfy my sweet cravings because the kids often purchase large bags of candy but can’t consume them all. They frequently give me the leftover candy, which I usually don’t finish and throw away. Just now, I received a bag of gummy worms that’s three-quarters empty. I might have a few pieces and discard the rest, as consuming too much candy tends to upset my stomach.
Unfortunately, my site is currently down, making it impossible to publish my latest post. After contacting my host and confirming everything was in order on their end, I realized that my domain registration had expired. I promptly renewed it, so the site should be back online soon. On a lighter note, it’s pretty challenging to type with my cat, Sandy, resting her head on my left hand, where most of the typing happens.
I typically only type directly in the WordPress app using my phone. The font is small, and I find it easier to work on a document where the text is easier to read. Once I am satisfied with my writing, I copy and paste it into WordPress. Today, when I attempted to access WordPress via my site, I discovered it was down. Fortunately, this didn’t stop me from working on my writing throughout the day. My domain registration expired today. It’s a good thing I noticed that today.
Great news – my site is back up now! I can finally proceed with posting. 🙂
