It was our inaugural day aboard the ship! Following a light breakfast, we prepared for the day and readied our belongings. We eagerly anticipated the shuttle to transport us to the ship’s embarkation building. The shuttle ride was quite eventful. The driver navigated through heavy traffic, which sometimes felt a bit intense.
Boarding the ship was a seamless process. I appreciate the convenience of leaving our suitcases to be delivered to our room by the crew. Once on board around noon, we took a brief stroll, then headed to our room to stow our backpacks. Feeling hungry, we made our way to the dining room for lunch. I opted for the tenderloins, which were truly delightful. Since our bags hadn’t been delivered yet, we explored the ship and found some deck chairs to relax in as we embarked. I indulged in a few glasses of wine and felt slightly buzzed, a sensation I don’t particularly enjoy.
At 6 o’clock, we gathered in the dining room for dinner. The delicious meal provided much-needed relief for my stomach and head. I enjoyed some fried chicken followed by a delightful mascarpone dessert. Feeling weary, we returned to our room to unpack and unwind for the night. We arranged for hot tea to be brought to our room, and I’m currently waiting for it to cool as I write. We have a day at sea planned, with a few activities lined up tomorrow. Despite my fatigue, I’m struggling to recall the details at the moment.
Here are a few pics from today. Not all of the pics have synced to my laptop yet. More pics are on Facebook and Instagram.
