I woke up this morning thinking it was early, only to find that Tommy had already left for the deck to prepare for our arrival at Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve. Kel and I joined Tommy outside as we sailed through Glacier Bay, bundled in winter jackets and layered sweaters. The glaciers were breathtaking, and Tommy took numerous photos and even recorded a video. We enjoyed some coffee and hot tea while taking in the stunning views. Although Tommy had already eaten breakfast on the deck, Kel ordered food that, unfortunately, never arrived. So we went inside to order our breakfast and brought it outside. I had a delicious strawberry danish and some eggs with avocado on toast. Kel and I spent three and a half hours outside, while Tommy was there longer since he was there before we arrived.
After we visited Glacier Bay, we returned to our room to stow away our jackets, hats, and gloves. We then made our way to the main dining room for lunch. Tommy had already arrived there ahead of Kel and me, as he had left the deck earlier. Kel and I found ourselves disoriented trying to locate the dining room, as navigating the ship can be pretty confusing. For lunch, I enjoyed some beer-battered cod. Afterward, the three of us returned to our room. Tommy is currently occupied with editing pictures, Kel is doing laundry, and I’m focused on my writing.
Tonight is a formal evening, and I’ve decided to wear my purple dress, which I prefer over the black one. After Kel finished the laundry, we got ready for dinner. As usual, we all enjoyed the escargot, which has become a tradition. I had tenderloin and lobster for my main course and a delightful swan-shaped cream puff with raspberry sauce for dessert. It was delicious! After dinner, we dressed casually and headed to the Wheelhouse bar for a drink. I chose the drink tonight. I decided on the sour melon, which, yes, was sour. I liked it. Tommy was exhausted, so we returned to our room after one drink. While he’s fast asleep, Kel is in the shower now, and I’m taking some time to wind down by writing.
Tomorrow, we look forward to another day at sea and the opportunity to witness the breathtaking College Fjord glaciers.
