I’m watching Tommy play ‘The Last of Us’ again. This isn’t his first time experiencing the game, and I wonder if he’ll complete it this round. It’s an intriguing game, though I’m not particularly fond of the zombie sound effects—they can be quite unsettling at times. Now it seems he has reached the point where he paused last time, but he’s finished playing for now.
It’s a quiet Saturday. This morning, we went to the post office, and afterward, Tommy and I stopped by the grocery store to pick up dinners for the next few nights. Now, we’re relaxing and watching TV as it rains outside. I just retrieved my Switch to play some games, but it seems I haven’t played in a while since it had a few updates to complete. Currently, O’Malley is engaged in playtime with Merlin, enjoying the habit of playfully nipping at his face, while Merlin responds by placing his paws over O’Malley. Noticing Sandy sleeping, O’Malley has now moved over to her and is settling in for a nap.
I’m scrolling through Pinterest, and it feels like the only space that isn’t flooded with campaigns, political memes, and discussions about politics. I can hardly wait for the election to be over; it’s been so stressful. Election Day, in particular, is going to be especially overwhelming. I wish it weren’t this hectic. Politics has always caused me a lot of anxiety.
I’m going to go, for now, play on my Switch and then help with dinner. We have a few options for dinner tonight and I’m not sure yet which option we will do. Maybe I will make some hot tea as well.
