I’m currently listening to Christmas music while coding. I believe this should be a thing! Right now, I’m focusing on writing forms, which is fairly straightforward, though there’s a lot to remember. I have a project that involves creating a sign-up form. It seems simple enough, but I can’t help but wonder if it’ll actually be easy.
It’s December! I just wrapped up my planning for Thanksgiving, and now it’s time to shift gears and prepare for Christmas. We took out our Christmas decorations yesterday, and it brings me so much joy to see everything set up, especially the tree. We decorated the tree on Thanksgiving night since all the kids were home to help out. I shared some pictures on Facebook from our tree-decorating experience.
Thanksgiving morning, I woke up to Kel informing me that she had turned on the oven without checking inside. Last Wednesday night, Tommy and I made rolls and left them in the oven to finish rising. We ended up heading to Smith’s in the morning for more bread flour and yeast to remake the rolls. We would have had to remake them since we had forgotten to add sugar to one of the batches. That Wednesday night, we also had to make a few trips to Walmart. The first trip was to pick up some pans for the rolls, along with a few other items. However, while we were making the rolls, Tommy discovered that little creatures were crawling in the bread flour! So, we had to return to Walmart to get new bread flour.
We also had snow on the ground on Thanksgiving morning for about an hour or so. Then it melted.
Alexis came home on Tuesday and left yesterday to return to school. On Wednesday, Kel and I spent the day preparing pies and lumpia, and I think everything turned out quite well. Kel’s dad came over for Thanksgiving, so it was a nice holiday.
On Friday, Tommy, Kel, and I watched the movie *Wicked*. It truly stands on its own; I felt that it wasn’t necessary to read the book, watch *The Wizard of Oz*, or see the musical to fully appreciate it. I really enjoyed the singing—the songs were excellent. I found the acting to be quite strong, particularly from the lead characters.
The weekend was quite relaxing. We decorated the house and immersed ourselves in playing Final Fantasy XIV. Our Thanksgiving dinner lasted for three nights, and we enjoyed a roast yesterday. I’m not certain what we’ll have for dinner tonight, but we do have some ham and a bit of turkey left over, along with some side dishes.
I added some Thanksgiving pics. Along with the kids decorating the tree and some Christmas decorations.
