Once again, I’m finding myself staring at my phone, dreading the prospect of making a dentist appointment. It’s not the dental visit itself that I dread; rather, it’s the act of making the call that I find so daunting. In addition to scheduling an appointment for myself, I also need to do the same for Karissa. Furthermore, we both require a prescription for antibiotics to take before our appointments. I really should just pick up the phone and get it over with, especially since I have therapy at 2:30.
Well, I finally made the call. Unfortunately, the lady at the front desk was only able to reschedule existing appointments and couldn’t set a new one. She did, however, send an email to the dental office and noted that both Karissa and I need antibiotics for our upcoming visit. They will contact me within the next 24 to 48 hours to confirm our appointments.
I’ve never had to navigate the appointment process this way before. In the past, I would simply call to schedule an appointment, and there was no wait for a callback. Why can’t I just have the dental office’s phone number? Or do they use the same number for returning calls to set up appointments? This means I can’t afford to miss their call. What if they try to reach me during my therapy session? I would then have to miss the call and return it later, which seems so inconvenient.
The medical center houses behavioral, medical, and dental services all in one location. This is where I attend both my therapy and dental appointments—though now my therapy sessions are conducted via video calls.
Regarding coding, I’m currently working on the javascript debounce function. I grasp the rationale behind it, but the implementation still confuses me.
I just finished my therapy session, where we focused on IFS (Internal Family Systems). I find it challenging, but it does seem to be effective. Oh, and the dentist’s office called back right before my appointment, so I had to be quick. Karissa and I have scheduled an appointment for May 1st. I might as well arrange a time for Alexis as well, since appointments are filling up quickly. I plan to do that either tomorrow or Friday. Our upcoming visit will just be an exam, so no antibiotics will be necessary; they prefer to conduct an exam first since I haven’t been to the dentist in quite some time.
Tonight, we’re having leftovers, which is great because it helps us use up what we have. I’m going to make myself some matcha tea now.
