I’m lying on the bed typing, and it’s not too bad, although it’s a bit challenging since my laptop keeps shifting as I type. Lol. Tommy is home sick today, so I’ve been keeping him company. Last weekend was pretty uneventful; Tommy started feeling unwell on Saturday. There’s a stomach bug circulating at his workplace. He really didn’t want to miss work today, especially since they’re already short-staffed. This morning, he tried to get ready for work, but after a few hours, he realized he couldn’t go in and decided to stay home instead.
Let’s see, on Friday, Tommy had his dentist appointment. I have these wonderful slippers that are like fur-lined shoes. They have hard soles and can easily be worn outside. Halfway to the dentist’s office, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to put on my regular shoes and was only wearing my slippers! It was quite amusing. Despite the oversight, I decided to carry on and wore my slippers to the dentist appointment and then to Costco afterward. I felt a bit self-conscious, but, my jeans are too long and covered most of the fur-lined tops of my slippers. However, no one seemed to pay any attention to my feet, so it turned out to be a non-issue.
On Friday night, Alex and his friends went to see the new Minecraft movie. Kel drove them and then took Alex to work afterward. This left just me, Tommy, and Karissa for the evening. We decided to order pizza, which turned out to be quite good.
On Saturday, we worked out and prepared to head to the store to buy ingredients for Chile Colorado. However, much more snow fell than anticipated, and we ended up getting the car stuck. We called Kel, who drove the truck to rescue us. After dropping her back off at work, we headed to Walmart to pick up what we needed for dinner. We had a bit of a scare when we almost couldn’t find the chile pods, as making Chile Colorado without them would have been quite a challenge.
I began preparing dinner when we returned home, which I believe is when Tommy started to feel unwell. He ended up taking a nap on the couch while I cooked. We enjoyed our dinner after Kel got back from work, and the Chile Colorado turned out quite well. Although I had used hot chiles, the dish wasn’t as spicy as I expected. I followed the instructions and used four cups of water for ten chile pods; however, in the video, she used only three and a half cups of water. Perhaps I’ll try that next time.
On Sunday, we took some time to unwind at home. Tommy repaired the pellet stove on Friday, which turned out to be fortunate given the snowfall. So we were able to keep the house warm. After a while, we ventured out to free the car, which had been stuck. Luckily, the melting snow made it easy to get it out. We need to purchase new tires soon. We then drove over to Smith’s to pick up ingredients for dinner, and we ended up having chicken tacos. Kel attended the Celtic fair with a coworker; she mentioned that it was muddy but nonetheless enjoyable. Oh, we did go to T-Mobile to add Alexis’s phone to the account, but unfortunately, the girl didn’t really seem to understand what we were asking. She just kept saying we need to call. So we went home and Tommy added her phone to the account online. Lexi is happy, she said her current phone is “on the brink of death.”
I took some photos of the snow that I plan to share on Facebook and Instagram. Tomorrow morning, I have a doctor’s appointment for a follow-up to discuss the lab results from my blood work last week. Karissa’s college transcript is currently in the mail, and I will send it to the university tomorrow. She has already applied, but they require her transcript.
Now, I’m going to make myself a cup of tea and see if Tommy would like one as well.
