I need to get my hair cut, but the stylist I usually see is recovering from surgery. I’m considering going to Walmart for a cut in the meantime. I plan to dye my hair in July, especially since we have a cruise at the end of the month.
As for the animals today, they’re driving me a bit crazy. O’Malley wants to play with Emily, but she’s not interested. Mimi keeps trying to sneak into the bedroom, so I’ve put the cat food away to prevent her from eating the other pets’ food. As for Merlin, he’s just being his usual energetic self, running around outside. Sandy is doing well; she’s sleeping but will undoubtedly find her way to my desk later.
I’m still trying to work out this reverse-linked list function and feel like I’m nearly there, maybe. It’s almost lunchtime, and I’m still undecided about what I want to eat. Alex bought cookies and offered me some, but I’m trying to be disciplined and resist. I’m focused on losing weight, and lately, Alex has been bringing home junk food that he likes to share. It’s been challenging, but I’ve managed to stay strong and not indulge.
O’Malley is still cozily sleeping under my desk; he’s been there for a few hours now. I accidentally stepped on him earlier, but he didn’t seem to mind and stayed put.
It’s 4:30, and I still haven’t cracked the code. This is my second day working on it, and I’m determined to figure it out. Right now, though, I feel the urge to clean—yes, I admit I’m trying to procrastinate. The weather is warming up, so I decided to open the windows to help cool down the house. I believe we’re having leftovers for dinner tonight, which is good because we have a lot to finish.
I guess I’m procrastinating as I sip on a glass of water. I’m drinking it quickly because I have a habit of worrying about dust getting into my drinks when I use open cups. So, I tend to finish my hot tea and coffee fast as well. And hold it close to me, because dust won’t get in while I’m holding it… right? That’s why I prefer water bottles; I should really get one for myself. Kel has plenty of them, but I’d like to have my own.
I often struggle with how to conclude my journal entries. Saying goodbye feels a bit strange to me. On a different note, I realized I don’t have any lettuce for Tommy’s lunch. I should have mentioned this yesterday. Kel mentioned we could buy some on Thursday, but I agreed without considering that Tommy needs lunch for that day too! Now I’m in need of some lettuce. I really need to get to the store.
Yesterday, I was watching a YouTube video with Tommy that showcased artwork from the Louvre. I realized that I’ve forgotten much of what I learned in the four Art History classes I took. Although I recognized a few pieces, I couldn’t recall their names or the names of the artists. I have always found art history fascinating, even though the teachers were somewhat dull. I wonder whether we’ll be visiting the Louvre or not. I’m unsure about what I want to see there, as there are so many rooms and an abundance of art. It’s hard to narrow it down. Perhaps I’ll focus on the Mona Lisa, since it seems to be a must-see for everyone.
