As it is approximately 6:30 a.m., I started writing. I have an ear appointment today, so I’m in the city. Tommy dropped me off at McDonald’s. Usually, I would go to the Starbucks next door, but they have converted their store into a grab-and-go store. They’ve removed all the tables and chairs and no longer have a public bathroom. So here I am at McDonald’s. The only downside is that McDonald’s has no outlets, so I’m watching my laptop slowly lose its charge. Luckily, I fully charged it last night. I had a burrito and a small iced coffee. McDonald’s burritos are small but sufficient to fill you up. My laptop is charging my watch, so I have a watch today.
I noticed that charging my watch using my laptop drained its battery slightly. I had anticipated this, but now I’m getting worried. It’s 9 a.m., and my laptop has a 68% battery. The morning rush at McDonald’s is over. Although this McDonald’s is in a pleasant area, I don’t feel like having lunch here. I brought my lunch today – a turkey sandwich and a fruit cup. I believe Tommy mentioned that I’ll join him at his workplace after my appointment. The lobby at his workplace is quite lovely. I hope there will be an outlet where I can charge my laptop.
I’m feeling uneasy studying at McDonald’s. It’s not the typical place to hang out and study, but at least they haven’t asked me to leave, which is good. I ordered a Coke Zero, and I’m not really interested in getting anything else, even though I’m starting to feel hungry. The small breakfast burrito I had didn’t keep me full for long. It’s already past 10:30, and I don’t know if they’ve started serving lunch yet. My laptop’s battery is at 45%, and my appointment is at 1:45, so I should still have enough battery when Tommy comes to pick me up. Or at least I hope so. I thought I was feeling a bit jittery from the caffeine, but now I think it might be nerves. I’m feeling anxious, even though there’s no real reason to, and just being out in public triggers my anxiety. I’m feeling restless, too.
This past weekend was quite eventful. Alexis had her blood drawn on Friday in preparation for an upcoming doctor’s appointment, and then we took her to the MVD to get her ID. Afterward, Chris and I dropped off Kel’s dad’s truck. Later in the afternoon, Kel and I went to my audiologist appointment. Unfortunately, I didn’t perform well on the hearing test, but that was to be expected. The audiologist sent the results to my ENT doctor, so I don’t need a physical copy, although I have one for my records.
On Saturday, Tommy and I ran some errands before heading to Costco for my hearing test for hearing aids. Thankfully, there was little change from the last test I had at Costco, which is good news.
On Sunday, Tommy and the boys enjoyed a day of golf and lessons, followed by lunch and pool. They capped off the day with a movie. Meanwhile, I stayed home with Kel and the girls, spending the day watching YouTube, cleaning my desk, reading, and treating myself to a face mask.
The McDonald’s is quite crowded during the lunch rush. My laptop battery is at 29%. A few homeless individuals hang out here, but overall, it’s not a bad place. Their internet connection is relatively fast. It would be more convenient if they had electrical outlets. It’s already lunchtime, and I should grab something to eat. Unfortunately, there’s no outdoor seating where I can enjoy my sandwich. Due to this, I haven’t been seriously considering eating just yet. I believe Tommy should be arriving to pick me up soon. Well, maybe not immediately. The longer I remain here, the more restless I feel. Some outdoor seating would be really beneficial right now. I think being able to sit outside would improve my anxiety.
My laptop battery is currently at 19%. It seems to me that the lower the battery percentage, the faster it drains. Or maybe it’s just me. This place has become quite crowded, and I’m feeling anxious. I believe I’ll be getting picked up soon. I’m contemplating whether I should pack away my laptop and prepare to leave.
I’ve just finished my doctor’s appointment and am now at Tommy’s workplace. I have to pick up antibiotics and steroids for my right ear. Tommy will be working for another two hours before we head home. We might need to stop by the store on our way back. I managed to charge my laptop in the car, so it’s now at 60%. It’s scorching here in the city, with temperatures reaching 100 degrees. I can’t wait to return home where it’s a cooler ten degrees.
Tomorrow, Karissa has a doctor’s appointment and, later in the day, a hair appointment. Alexis has a doctor’s appointment on Thursday, and I have therapy on Friday. It’s going to be a hectic week.
