About a month ago, our second refrigerator stopped working. It was an older model I purchased in 2005 when the girls and I moved into our apartment. Then, just this past week, our washing machine also decided to give out. The washer had served us well since 2014, but it was time to say goodbye. We’ve been using Chris’s mini fridge as a temporary solution for the refrigerator, but it’s now empty as he’s heading back to school on Thursday. Kel had to go to the laundromat in the city on Sunday to do our laundry. It’s a shame the washer couldn’t have held on for a few more weeks until we left on vacation.
On the Odin Project website, we’re delving deeper into JavaScript. However, they’re starting with some HTML, which I’m enjoying.
It’s already Wednesday. I meant to write yesterday, but I got caught up with things and didn’t get the chance to update my journal. This is one of the reasons why I prefer having a digital journal over a physical one; I used to feel guilty for not writing every day, but with the digital version, it’s not as big of a concern. It’s quiet this morning as Chris is preparing to leave for school tomorrow, and Alexis will start packing either tomorrow or Friday as she’s leaving for school on Saturday. Later today, I have a therapy session scheduled.
Yesterday was Left-Handers Day, so I wished my daughters a Happy Left-Handers Day. This sparked a conversation between the girls when Lexi expressed surprise upon learning that Krissy is also left-handed. I taught them to use their right hand for specific tasks, such as operating a computer mouse, to make things easier for them. In case you’re curious, both Kevin and I are right-handed, although I am technically ambidextrous. However, I favor using my right hand.
I’m starting to feel the effects of intermittent fasting – sometimes, it’s tough. It’s hard to concentrate when I’m hungry. On the bright side, I’ve already shed a few pounds, so that’s a positive outcome. My weight fluctuates quite a bit. A few days ago, I weighed 150 lbs. Then, I was down to 145 lbs yesterday, and today, I’m at 147 lbs. Despite the fluctuations, I feel I’m progressing well with my weight loss. It’s time to reintroduce regular exercise and use the gym in the garage.
I am snuggled up in a blanket, and the swamp cooler is not turned on, so I feel pretty cold. I tried going outside to warm up, but the weather was chilly and windy, so that didn’t work out. I then retreated to the garage to spend some time since it was warm there.
It’s later in the day, and I’m about to turn the swamp cooler on because the house is warming up. My therapy session went well. We discussed my anxiety about the upcoming trip and the kids going back to school. I’m starting to wonder when I should begin packing. Anyway, I need to refill some pill boxes, so I’ll get off the laptop now.
