Ok, I have my TBR list for fall books. I won’t read all these books this season, but I will have my list of books to be read. Here are a few autumn book recommendations that capture the cozy, atmospheric vibes of the season:
“A Discovery of Witches” by Deborah Harkness
“Practical Magic” by Alice Hoffman
“The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
“The Secret History” by Donna Tartt
“The Thirteenth Tale” by Diane Setterfield
“The Binding” by Bridget Collins
“The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by V.E. Schwab
“Sorcery of Thorns” by Margaret Rogerson
“Six of Crows” by Leigh Bardugo
“Alice” by Christina Henry
“Beautiful Creatures” by Kami Garcia
I had intended to include “Beautiful Creatures” on my reading list because I am eager to finish the book. However, when I first read it, about a quarter of the way through, my ex expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that I wasn’t devoted enough attention to him and couldn’t read and spend time with him. I recognized this as a red flag, but I wasn’t sure how to address it at the time. My to-be-read list is quite extensive, and I really should start making my way through it. Currently, I’m engrossed in “Race Across Alaska.”
Over the past two days, I’ve been relatively busy. On Thursday, I assisted Tommy with cleaning the bathroom, and we also took care of a few errands in the morning. Today, Tommy and I made trips to Costco and Home Depot. Later in the day, I attended my therapy session, which went well. During the session, we discussed my recent trip to Alaska and whether I experienced any anxiety while on vacation. I admitted to some anxiety, although it wasn’t too severe. We also talked about the passing of Kel’s mom and its impact on everyone. Tommy had therapy also.
I need to go make dinner here in a few minutes. We are having German schnitzels tonight. I remember having that at a German restaurant and thinking it was very similar to chicken fried steak, which German/Austrian immigrants brought up. The word “schnitzel” comes from the German verb schneiden, which means “to cut”.
