My Cat Sandy: The Ultimate Desk Buddy (Whether I Like It or Not).
I like working at my computer. It’s peaceful, productive, and—oh wait, I forgot—I have a cat. Sandy, my feline shadow, has decided that my desk is her personal domain. Every day, without fail, she hops up, finds the most inconvenient spot (usually right between me and the keyboard), and settles in for a nap.
I’ve tried relocating her—multiple times, in fact—but she always comes back, her eyes half-closed, purring like she’s got me under some sort of fluffy mind control. It’s like having a boss who sleeps on your desk and insists on getting paid in chin scratches.
Today, she’s sprawled across my desk and keyboard, twitching in her sleep, probably dreaming about all the things she can knock off my desk when she wakes up. Do I mind? Maybe a little. Will I move her? Definitely not. Because deep down, I know I’m just her assistant. (and she will just be back if I move her)
It’s lunchtime. Sandy is using my arm as her headrest while I’m typing. I don’t know how that is comfortable. I’m about to eat so I will disturb Miss Sandy Cheeks. Yes, Alexis named her. Alexis was 6 years old at the time. I’m not sure what I want for lunch. I shall go now and look.
Happy Monday! Yesterday, we visited Wagner Farm and purchased some green chile and apples. We had the chiles roasted right there at the farm. We also explored the pumpkin patch, where Tommy captured some photos of us. It was a great outing, although I missed having Lexi with us since she was at school.
Tommy and I have started exercising again. I’m feeling pretty sore all over. We did some weight training on Saturday, and on Sunday, we went for a two-mile walk. We also ran a few errands on Saturday, trying to mail his motherboard, but the Mail & Copy place was closed by the time we arrived. It turns out their online closing time was different. Since his new motherboard isn’t working, he’s sending it in to be fixed.
Today has been filled with a lot of reading for my coding work. Currently, we’re working on JavaScript within an HTML page and observing the results in the console.
It’s later in the day and I’m having a cup of tea. The weather is cooling off this week. And we are supposed to get rain also. I look forward to the rain.
