As we embark on a new year, I need to remind myself to write 2025 instead of 2024. Meanwhile, my computer fan has been making a ticking noise. I could give it a smack to see if that helps, but I’m concerned that too much force could damage the computer. Plus, with my headphones on, the noise is barely noticeable.
In CSS, we are currently exploring animations and @keyframes, and I’m enjoying the process of creating animations rather than moving on to the next topic.
I accompanied Kel to the vet to get the dogs vaccinated, which resulted in a late morning return and less time for coding. I feel like I haven’t accomplished much today, though I did manage to start a load of laundry; the basket was starting to overflow.
New Year’s was a lot of fun. For New Year’s Eve, we gathered at our friend’s house for gaming and trip planning. We had a slow start to the day since Tommy was suffering from a migraine in the morning. Eventually, he got up to head to work while Kel and I focused on packing. We spent the night at our friend’s house to celebrate. After dropping Tommy off at work, Kel and I drove around in search of a grocery store to pick up some ingredients for nachos. We encountered some confusion with the GPS, leading us to a strange location and causing us to get a bit lost. However, we eventually found a store and made it back to our friend’s house, where we assisted in preparing the food for New Year’s Eve.
Kel picked Tommy up at four and brought him over. We spent the evening planning our trip to Europe and playing board games until it was time to count down to the New Year. I enjoyed a mix of coke and coconut rum, which was quite pleasant. I made sure to sip it slowly, as I typically get sleepy when I drink. We did the countdown to the New Year and then started getting ready for bed.
On New Year’s Day, we enjoyed breakfast and played several more board games. We had a late lunch, which left me too full to have dinner. We returned home around six, and the kids managed to prepare their own dinner. Tommy and I took some time to relax and played Final Fantasy XIV for a while before heading to bed.
I began a new planner today; well, technically, I started it on Monday but updated it today. I also have a small journal that I hope to write in daily, or at least attempt to jot something down each day. It could be as simple as adding stickers or reminders that capture the essence of each day. The journal is primarily for personal reflections that I prefer not to keep online and for preserving memories.
